Once in a while I try to organize my desktop.
Not very often, something like between 4 years, like following the Olympics calendar. 😄
This time Spotify was the chosen one.
My laptop keeps on most of the time, but every time I need to restart it, there was the Spotify jumping in front of me.
Stop Spotify from opening on Mac Startup
- Open Spotify Preferences
- Open Advanced Settings
- Select No for Open Spotify automatically… option
1. Open Spotify Preferences
You can do it by Spotify > Preferences menu.
Or by the shortcut: Command + ,
2. Open Advanced Settings
3. Select No for Open Spotify automatically… option
Done.
The point is: there is a proper place to do that kind of configuration, System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login itens.
But some apps, like Spotify for example, just ignore this convention.
As the result, the configs are all over the place.
The Chrome browser for example does not follow the convention.
